Chimera Lab is a cross-media production company led by Tom Taplin.
Founded in 2024, we are currently developing a slate of exciting work across scripted film, documentary, theatre and radio.
We also provide production services for short-form commercial, music video and corporate clients.

Creative Director Tom Taplin
Tom has an extensive background in HETV and Film as an Assistant Director, having worked on projects such as Bad Sisters 2 (AppleTV+), Queenie (Channel 4/Disney), and more recently Brian Cox’s directorial feature debut, Glenrothan.
In 2024 he produced sci-fi feature film Voidance, starring James Cosmo, which is currently in post-production and seeking distribution. His debut short film as writer/director Varnished will be Chimera Lab’s inaugural production, debuting at film festivals in 2025.
