Chimera Lab is a cross-media production company led by Tom Taplin.
Founded in 2024, we are currently developing a slate of exciting work across scripted film, documentary, theatre and radio.
We also provide production services for short-form commercial, music video and corporate clients.

Creative Director Tom Taplin
Tom has an extensive background in HETV and Film as an Assistant Producer and Assistant Director, most recently having worked on projects such as Youth (HBO Max), Bad Sisters 2 (AppleTV+), Twenty Twenty Six (BBC), Trigger Point 3 (ITV) and Brian Cox’s directorial feature debut, Glenrothan.
In 2024 he produced sci-fi feature film Voidance, starring James Cosmo, which closed the London Sci-Fi Film Festival and was released in May 2026. He is now overseeing the festival run for Chimera Lab’s second production Geronto, and in early development with various emerging writers and directors.
